Introduction
The Office of General Affairs is dedicated to creating an excellent research and teaching environment, allowing faculty to focus on their research and teaching with peace of mind, and enabling students to study with dedication. To this end, the office is organized into five sections based on the nature and function of its work: the General Services Section, the Construction and Maintenance Section, the Cashier Section, the Document Management Section, and the Asset Management and Operations Section (formerly the Property Management Section, renamed in August 2024). We provide full support to the university's various administrative departments, playing an extremely important role in logistical support, and are a service team dedicated to serving all faculty, staff, and students.
General affairs are trivial and complex, with a wide range of responsibilities. Our office has always upheld the belief of "serving with heart and innovation" and a friendly attitude to serve the entire university community, helping to improve and enhance the quality of the campus teaching and research environment. We are committed to pushing forward with goals such as simplifying administrative procedures, improving administrative efficiency, computerizing administrative operations, and increasing revenue while reducing expenses, with the aim of providing comprehensive coordination, support, and services.
With the accomplishment and progress of phased tasks, general affairs work has entered a new phase of "innovation and change." The goals and principles for all colleagues in the Office of General Affairs during this phase are as follows:
- In line with national and social changes and the university's development, we will regularly revise general affairs regulations, administer according to the law, improve work efficiency, and implement a concept of good quality control.
- In response to the university's transformation and the addition of new departments, we will plan for the construction of new teaching buildings and prudently and fairly allocate campus space and building areas according to resolutions passed by the university council. This is to ensure that all facilities and equipment meet the needs of all faculty, staff, and students, with the goal of synchronized development and shared resources among all departments and academic clusters.
- In accordance with the university's existing environment and overall development plan, we will strengthen the design and maintenance of campus landscapes, reorganize the overall campus ecological foundation, green spaces, public facilities, and public equipment. We will establish standards for teaching and research spaces, create humanized spaces, and elevate our university to a first-class institution within the vocational and technological education system.
The quality of general affairs work not only affects the quality of student learning and the improvement of faculty research capabilities but is also the foundation of the university's overall development. Our office will continue to uphold the spirit of serving with heart and innovation, doing our utmost in our roles to meet the needs of various departments. We will further integrate the administrative resources of all offices and departments, and we hope to gain the recognition and support of the university's faculty, staff, and students. By working together toward this ideal, we aim to facilitate the university's "all-around" development, achieve a simultaneous improvement in the quantity and quality of "teaching productivity," and a significant enhancement of "research competitiveness," ultimately making our university a first-class university of science and technology and a source of pride for Yunlin County residents and all alumni.
